I spent yesterday afternoon at Stephen & Janet-Lynn Yeomans home filming three Thanksgiving themed videos. They were very gracious, allowing me to trundle in my gear and setting up in their kitchen, office and on their front lawn.

The videos are short clips and designed to humorously show how we tend to not be so thankful when things don't quite go our way in life.

Yesterday was supposed to be sunny... perfect for the outdoor shot, but of course the weatherman was far from accurate with his forecast. I mean, seriously, is there another profession (other than perhaps a major league baseball player) who can be as wrong as weather forecasters are and still remain gainfully employed?

Anyway... today as I sat down to do the edit I wanted to turn yesterday’s grey, cloudy sky into something a bit more colorful. I also wanted to fake a shallow depth of field effect, essentially blurring out the background. Below you can see the scene before and after some post-production work.
